Hi everybody!
Eccomi qui a raccontare si potrebbe dire il sogno di una vita che si realizza, un'emozione indescrivibile, tanto da non avere la forza e la prontezza di scattare fotografie. E' successo davvero per caso e quando ci penso rivivo quelle emozioni come fosse la sorpresa più bella di sempre: ho assistito alla schiusa di un nido di piccole tartarughe, alla schiusa delle tanto studiate Caretta Caretta!

Here I am writing about this amazing adventure, something that even right now looks unbelievable for me, a sort of lifelong dream that finally become reality! It was so exciting for me that I couldn't find the force and the readiness to take photographs! It was really a case, and especially for me was one of the best surprise of my life: I've seen the hatching of a turtles' nest! Actually my dearest Caretta Caretta!

Puntuale come un orologio svizzero, eccolo il mio 1° Settembre, pronta a mettere ordine e condividere con voi tutto quello che mi ha regalato questa estate 2015, e come sempre inizio dalla fine, da ciò che per niente avevo programmato, e che come spesso accade mi ha emozionato di più. Mi trovavo a Taranto, precisamente a Lido Gandoli per trascorrere un'ultima giornata di mare, quando un mio carissimo amico Stefano Bellomo, fondatore della NGO GreenRope (sulla pagina facebook trovate tutti gli aggiornamenti!), ci informa che la sera precedente proprio lì vicino, durante l'osservazione del nido di Caretta Caretta protetto dal WWF Bosco Pantano - Policoro Heralkeia , nella località Marina di Lizzano, hanno assistito esattamente alla schiusa delle uova all'alba!
Senza pensarci due volte, io e i miei amici decidiamo di restare, di improvvisare una nottata in quella zona, con meno dell'essenziale nei nostri zaini, i cellulari ormai scarichi, ma impazienti di arrivare in prossimità del nido e metterci anche noi in attesa delle piccoline che presto avrebbero fatto capolino dal nido.
Dalle 18 più o meno, ci posizioniamo lì, e tra i passanti curiosi, i responsabili del WWF e i volontari, il tempo passa, e pian piano la nostra tensione scende, saremo davvero così fortunati da assistere alla schiusa?
(Io nel dubbio scatto qualche foto al paesaggio! :D )
So perfectly in time on this 1st of September and so with the end of the summer, here I am ready to make a rewind of my summer, taking it by the end, actually talking about something I didn't plane, something that really suprised me, and moreover gave me a lot of emotions.
I was in near Taranto (Puglia), just for having maybe the last day of summer at the beach, and exactly when I was trying to become more tanned one of my best friend Stefano Bellomo, founder of the NGO GreenRope (enjoy the facebook page with all the updates about evironment and nature's stuff!), started to talk with me about the fact that among a beach actually near Taranto, during the passed night,they've seen the heatching of a turtles' nest (Caretta Caretta)! It was a protected zone manage by the WWF Bosco Pantano - Policoro Heralkeia , exactly in Marina di Lizzano. So just knowing about this amazing new, and the fact that they were expecting to see heatching of new turtles, me and my friends decided to pass the night on the beach, waiting for that authentic miracle of nature!
Just arrived at the WWF station, the sun was starting to go down, so much people were with us, waiting with patience the little turtles, but I was just wondering, will I be so lucky to see that magic?
(I doubts, taking pictures of sunset is always a good idea :D )
Ma ecco che proprio mentre forse non ce l'aspettavamo più, le chiacchere avevano preso il sopravvento, tutti iniziano a bisbigliare, e nel silenzio si sente: "Stanno nascendo!" Saltiamo letteralmente dal telo alle vicinanze del recinto, quasi non crediamo ai nostri occhi, eppure eccole lì, quelle piccoline si stanno affacciando alla vita!
But, actually when I was losing the hope, here that words circling in the air: "Turtles are coming up!" I perfectly remember the moment, I was almost crying, they were ready to the life in front of me!
E' stata davvero un'emozione indescrivibile, avevo quasi le lacrime agli occhi per l'emozione, rimanere immobile ad osservare la forza di questi piccoli esserini che per qualche motivo sanno che devono correre verso il mare, rimanere immobili davanti a quella autentica forza della natura non può che far pensare: la natura è meravigliosa!
It was really an unbelievable emotion, to see how strong is the nature, and how much power could have that little animals! And the fact that they perfeclty knows that they have to go in the sea, definitely made me crazy! Nature is amazing!
Con queste immagini immobili nella mia memoria si conclude la mia estate 2015, ringrazio il mio amico Stefano per averci coinvolto in questa esperienza, l'Oasi del WWF Bosco Pantano - Policoro per la loro professionalità e Andrea Gernone per il bellissimo video!

We got to see the Leather back Sea Turtles hatch in St. Croix. Loved it so much we will be going on a Sea Turtle Volunteer Vacation next year! Thanks for sharing!
