...l'aria d'estate si respira, turisti, viaggiatori e curiosi come noi erano seduti sul ponte, con il vento tra i capelli e la macchina fotografica attenta alle coste di quell'isola che ben presto si sarebbero delineate. Meno di un'ora per sentirsi così lontani "dall'Italia", per essere trasportati in una terra dove il tempo sembra scorrere più lentamente, dove un po' come tutte le isole, ci si sente sempre in vacanza. La prima impressione conquista subito ed è sempre la stessa: il mare in tutte le sue sfumature più brillanti e il verde di quelle sottili strisce di terra, che lasciano spazio a pochi lidi che fanno capolino dalle insenature incontaminate. Il tempo di attraccare e ci dirigiamo all'albergo, per poi partire con il primo tour delle coste dell'isola principale: San Domino.

...the air of summer is everywhere, tourists, travellers and just curiouses like us were sitting on the bridge of the ferry, just with the wind which crossed the hairs and the camera ready for taking photos of the cost. Just less of an hour, and you'll feel so far from Italy, in a land in which time passes slowly, and guess what like most of the islands, you'll always feel on holiday. The first impression immediatly will take you and is always the same: the colors of the sea in all of its shadows, and the green of that thiny costs, with just some little beachs, fixed in that uncontaminated creeks. After the ferry, just the time for taking a bus a going to the hotel, and we're ready for the tour of the main island: San Domino




L'escursione in gommone rappresenta l'opzione più completa per non perdere a mio parere l'attrazione principale dell'isola: la natura incontaminata. Osservando la costa dal mare infatti, si possono osservare varie tipologie di alghe che naturalmente colonizzano le coste, e tantissimi gabbiani reali che indisturbati sorvolano l'isola. Imperdibile osservando San Domino dal mare: le 3 famose grotte: Grotta delle Viole, Grotta delle Rondinelle e Grotta del Blue Marino. Munitevi di maschera e tubo, per i più appassionati un'immersione è d'obbligo!

The excursion with a rubber dinghy represents the most complete option for make experience with the most beautiful attraction of the island: the uncontaminated nature. Indeed, watching the costs from the sea, is possible to see so many different type of seagrasses which naturally colonize the costs, and so much herring gulls which fly among all the islands. Unmissable: the three famouse caves: Grotta delle Viole, Grotta delle Rondinelle e Grotta del Blue Marino. For those who likes scubadiving, don't miss mask and snorkle!



















Un'altra imperdibile attrazione che l'arcipelago fornisce, è sicuramente l'altra isola abitata: San Nicola. Iniziando dal porto, che nonostante le barche è caratterizzato da acqua pulita e pochi bagnanti, seguendo le vecchie pietre, si giunge nella parte più alta, e ancora una volta gabbiani reali  e una vista mozzafiato, conquisteranno i vostri cuori e le macchine fotografiche! La passeggiata continua e per i più avventurosi, seguendo il sentiero tracciato dalle pietre antiche, si giunge facilmente alle attrazioni principali dell'isola: Il Castello dei Badiali, l'abbazia di S.Maria a Mare.

The other famouse attraction of the archipelago, is the other in habited islans: San Nicola. You can discover the island starting from the port, and just following the old stones, you'll arrive on the top, and another time, two things will conquest your heart and camera too: the view and the herring seagulls! After the top, the way will continue, and another time, just following the old stones, you'll arrive to the most important attractions of the island:  Il Castello dei Badiali, l'abbazia di S.Maria a Mare.



































A fine giornata non potete che godervi il tramonto, per certi aspetti ci si sente fuori dall'Italia, quasi in un'isola lontana, ma sarà proprio in quel momento, circondati dal semplice vociare dei pochi abitanti del luogo, con una musica di Dalla che volteggia nell'aria, la conclusione è sempre la stessa: L'Italia è il paese più bello del mondo!

In the end of the day, the last thing you can't miss is definitely the sunset. For some aspects I was wondering in that moment in which amazing island out of Italy I was, but in the end, thanks with the few people who were talking around, a famouse song from an italian singer (Lucio Dalla), I realized something that always comes to my mind when I travel in Italy: I live in the best place of the world!


Consigli pratici :
- Da Bari consiglio il treno delle 5:20 per arrivare alle 7:30 a Termoli, in modo tale da prendere il traghetto d'andata alle 8:40, in questo modo potete godervi la giornata sin dalla mattina
- Per esplorare l'isola il noleggio gommoni permette autonomia e tranquillità, ma soprattutto permette di scoprire zone completamente incontaminate
